Thoughts on WSOP for ladies plus busy Sunday at Cake & 365Bonitas Poker

Soapbox time. Yesterday the WSOP held the Ladies Only event. Why? Well, they say tradition. That's right. The game was originally devised to keep the "little woman" occupied while her man was off playing the real WSOP events.  Is this a tradition women poker players wish to embrace? Being told our place as the "little woman" is off amusing ourselves with our own "special little game"? Personally I find it demeaning. Poker is one of the few sports where women can compete on an even level with men, where physical differences do not give one gender an advantage over another. Because Nevada does not allow discrimination due to gender, many males entered the Ladies event. Protest? It has been reported they were harassed and threatened by the WSOP officials. Ah, yes, let's not shine the light of day on this matter. How else can we keep the "little woman" in her place? K... getting off the soapbox now :)
