Hurricane Ike and the poker community

I started playing online poker in a Doyle charity tournament for the Hurricane Katrina relief effort. I have found over the last several years the poker player community has a big heart when it comes to charity events. Whether it be a game for a poker forum member beseiged by a personal disaster or a charity game to raise funds for Breast Cancer - poker sites and players step up.

Now in the wake of Hurricane Ike, again the poker community is doing their fair share to help.
TPFC and CakePoker have joined together to sponsor a benefit game for the Hurricane Ike victims.

On September 28th at 7:00PM ET CakePoker and thepokerforumchallenge.com (TPFC) are sponsoring a tournament. The buyin is $2.50 with a $2.50 fee. The entire fee will be donated to the American Red Cross. CakePoker has also added $50 to the prizepool.

In past benefit games CakePoker has always generously added additional monies to the donation. With a good turnout it is hoped they will do so again. The TPFC is also matching the donation up to $100

This is a great game for a wonderful cause and I'm sure the poker community again will rise to the occasion
