And in 2008 the needs of the members could no longer be met with the forum software. The forum just didn't lend itself to social interaction, navigation wasn't friendly and the calendar functionality was just too basic. Add to that the inability to protect membership poker tournaments from non members and the path was clear... new software was needed. May 9, 2008 Texaswheel.com was reborn with a brand new website, new administration, new forum software and the ability to protect the member only poker tournaments from non members.
The primary goal of the redesign of Texaswheel.com was to protect the membership poker tournaments from non members. In less than two months, the members have embraced the new website and software. The resulting "stickyness" was a bonus not anticipated. Members not only visit the new Texaswheel.com, they stay to participate, making 3000 posts in over 500 different topics.
A true social interaction has emerged. The poker forum provides a place for poker noobies, old timers, poker sharks and yes, even poker donkeys to get together. They discuss poker strategy, talk about the history of poker, get news about what is going on in the world of poker and schedule members only poker tournaments. Texaswheel.com is dedicated to bringing its members fun while helping them build a poker bankroll.
